The Chapel Bell Challenge
Inspire others. Inspire us.
Everyone has something inspirational on their mind, and this is your outlet to share. In 100 words or less share what inspires you. It may appear below. This is not an application for membership. You can find the new website with the update Chapel Bell at thechapelbell.org where new content and information about spring applications will be posted. Paula Shilton" In Clarke County there are over 500 students in the schools desperately wanting a mentor—to have a friend, listener, and just know someone is there for them. The Clarke County Mentoring Program’s (CCMP) goal is to see that every child who wants or needs a mentor will receive one, and they work diligently (just two part-time staff and a board) to make that happen. What is really inspiring though, is the 500 people who are already volunteering once a week for an hour to make a difference in a child’s life. Eighty percent are UGA students. Will you be one to be that difference? "
John Doe" You can be anything you want when you grow up,” or at least that is what we are told as children. But why wait until we are grown to pursue what we want? What is stopping us from pursuing our dreams this very instant? In a world where buildings outlive people and hating your job is the norm, I ask – mandate – be anything you want to be. Do not worry about picking a major, careers, the future, etc. Instead, find what makes you passionate and follow it. Soon we will be grown up…will you be what you want to be?"

" I am inspired by the ability of the individual to openly explore oneself and the world. The self can be the most mysterious and unnerving obstacle ever encountered, and I am inspired by those who fearlessly accept themselves and others, and experience the world in their own signature way. Any activity that helps one go beyond the illusions of inadequacy, separateness, and vulnerability inspires me to look beyond my ideas of things and see the beauty of the bigger picture. To me, this is liberation, and it constantly reminds me to move forward with open eyes and an open heart. "

Erin Orr" I am moved pretty easily. Scenes from classic Disney movies, a beautiful sunrise or a random act of kindness usually do it for me. But if you were to ask me what inspires me, I would have a hard time answering it. The reason is because it takes something that I’ve never done to inspire me to do it—and to be honest, I’m just not that creative when it comes to thinking of things that I haven’t done. So here’s what inspires me, in simplest terms: doing things that you have never done, even if you’re scared and inexperienced. Facing fears, thoughts of inadequacy and other worries, just to do something new. That’s inspiring."
